Privacy Policy
Last updated September 2026
TaxFly ("we", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data in line with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and the control you have.
Who we are
TaxFly is run by Radiant Vibes Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17082185, whose registered office is Unit 50 New Lydenburg Street, London, England, SE7 8NE. Radiant Vibes Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@taxfly.co.uk.
Using TaxFly without an account
You can use every calculator and tool without signing up. The calculators run entirely in your browser, so the salary, income, property prices and other figures you type are not sent to or stored on our servers. If you answer the questions in one of our checks, your answers are kept in your own browser's storage so you are not asked the same question twice. They leave your device only if you create an account.
Information we collect
- Usage data: pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location and how you arrived, collected with Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Yandex Metrica (through Google Tag Manager) when you allow analytics cookies. Clarity and Metrica also record session replays of how the page is used: clicks, scrolling and mouse movement.
- Advertising data: cookie identifiers, IP address and browsing activity, used by Google and its partners to show and measure ads and, if you consent, to personalise them. See Advertising below.
- Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe, and when you confirmed it.
- Contact: if you email us, your message and email address so we can reply.
- Account data: if you create a free account, your name, email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account's name, email address and ID instead. We never see your Google password.
If you create a free account
A free account lets you save results and decisions and keeps your answers between visits. We only store what you choose to save, and we use it solely to provide your dashboard. This can include:
- Your tax profile: the situation you tell us (for example sole trader, landlord or employee) and your region.
- Saved results: the figures and results you save from a calculator, check or decision tool.
- Saved payslips and invoices: if you press "Save" under the payslip or invoice generator, what you entered is stored so you can make the next one without retyping it. For a payslip that is the employer and employee names, the pay date, salary, tax code, pension and student loan settings and the figures shown. National Insurance numbers are never stored. For an invoice it is your business details, your client's name and details, the invoice lines, dates, payment details and notes. Nothing is saved unless you press the button.
A payslip or invoice can contain details about someone else, such as an employee or a client. You are responsible for having a good reason to record them, as you would be in any payroll or invoicing software. We store them only to show them back to you, and you can delete any one, or all of them, from your dashboard at any time; deleting removes them from our database straight away.
We never sell your data.
Advertising
TaxFly is free because it carries ads, which are served by Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to TaxFly and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info or www.youronlinechoices.com.
- Google explains how it uses this information in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any non-essential advertising or analytics cookie is set. The consent message is provided by Google, is certified under the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework, and lets you accept, refuse, or choose purpose by purpose and vendor by vendor. If you refuse, you still see ads, but they are not personalised. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page.
Partner links
Some pages link to products such as accounting software. Those links are marked, and if you follow one the partner can see that you came from TaxFly and may pay us a commission. We do not pass them any personal data. See our affiliate disclosure.
Our lawful bases
- Consent: analytics and personalised advertising cookies, and the newsletter. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Contract: running your account, when you ask us to create one.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the site secure, replying to your messages, and non-personalised advertising that pays for a free service.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of providers to run the service. Each one processes data only as far as its part of the service needs:
- Bunny.net: hosting, content delivery and the database that holds account data.
- Google: advertising (AdSense and Ad Manager), analytics (Google Analytics and Tag Manager), the consent message, and Google sign-in if you choose to use it.
- Microsoft: Clarity session replays and heatmaps.
- Yandex: Metrica visit statistics and session replays.
- Zoho ZeptoMail: sending account and newsletter emails.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on the transfer safeguards UK GDPR recognises, such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep your data
Account data stays until you close your account. Newsletter addresses stay until you unsubscribe, which you can do with the link in every email. Emails to us are kept only as long as we need them to deal with what you asked. When your account is closed, your profile, saved results, payslips and invoices are permanently deleted.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your consent choice and, with your consent, for analytics and advertising. Our cookie policy lists them and explains how to control them.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, including closing your account, email hello@taxfly.co.uk from the address on your account. We will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Children
TaxFly is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows the latest version.
